Last year, President Joe Biden declared Juneteenth to be a federal holiday.
The Emancipation Proclamation was signed on June 19, 1863, the day
formerly enslaved people in Texas learnt about it. Every year, the wholesale behemoth closes
its warehouses for several holidays, including New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, and
Labor Day. However, Juneteenth is not on the list of holidays that are closed.
However, we recommend calling ahead to make sure your local store
is open. The department store chain looks to be
open on Juneteenth, for those who are curious.
