Hudson won a Tony Award.

Jennifer Hudson became the newest member of the EGOT Winner club when she won her

first 2022 Tony Awards for co-producing the Broadway musical "A Strange Loop" on Sunday

night. "A Strange Loop" was nominated for a total of 11 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best

Actor. The musical won the Tony Prize for Best Musical, while Michael R. Jackson took home the

award for Best Book of a Musical. Individuals who have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a

Tony are known as "EGOTs." Only 16 other people have attained the elusive EGOT status.

Hudson received her first of four Oscar nominations in 2006 for her supporting performance in

"Dreamgirls." She is a two-time Grammy winner, with the first coming in 2009 for her self-titled album.

She went on to win a Daytime Emmy in 2021 for executive producing the animated short "Baba Yaga."
